I'm a view from a bridge -#review- Newcastle University Theatre Society

I'm A View From The Bridge - St Luke's Church - Newcastle University Theatre Society

Having done the book for GCSE English not once but twice I wasn't the biggest fan of it but I knew the storyline a bit too well!!

If you don't know the storyline its based  from Alfieri's point of view.
About the protagonist Eddie and his obsession with Catherine his niece from his wife's side of the family.

He certainly does not appreciate the courtship of Rodolpho who is an Italian migrant  and Catherine.

Things don't end well for Eddie and his family at all!

After going to The Nether by these guys I knew I was in for a great show.

The Stage was in the centre of the room and chairs on three sides giving the actors more room which was a great idea.

Alfieri played by Jasper Maberly who is elegant and suave at the same time but this is his story and he is used well to tell the storyline.

Coco Anthony played Beatrice really well creating suspense with her husbands character.

The colourful Rodolfo was played by Oli Warren who did indeed dye his hair for this production which needs to be mentioned.

Marco was played brilliantly by Jake Hodgkinson being cool as you like but you could tell that he knew his character well!

Flora Squires played Catherine extremely well drawing me into the show with her innocence but her relationship with Eddie  gave the show great depth and Eddie for me was the star of the show played superbly by Joe Sample who even though he is a bit short his acting makes him stand out!

Eddie made me think of Britain First guys they have the same mentality as Eddie, In one line he comments "That this is my niece and my responsibility" which is another reason why I think this

Seb Masters and Oliver Coury completed the acting line up and where both great actors also.

The Production Team need a mention and I have to say that I was impressed with how it looked and the sound and lighting was great.

The directing team of Bailey Pilbeam and Caroline Simonsen used the whole space to perfection

On the whole this show was great but if you want to see it unfortunately you're not able to !!

Well Done to everyone involved especially Joe Sample who definitely has a career in theatre if he wants it.
