JONATHAN ANSELL, MELISSA SUFFIELD and JONNY FREEMAN take to the stage at The Journal Tyne Theatre from Wednesday 27th April, to Monday 2nd May 2011, in a tale as old as time.
Beauty and the Beast is the classic tale of Belle, a young woman in a French provincial town, and of the Beast, a prince trapped in a spell by an evil enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out and he and his household will all be doomed if he does not learn his lesson soon...
All over the world audiences have fallen in love with this fascinating, heart-warming tale of beauty within.
The cast for Beauty and the Beast includes Jonathan Ansell (lead vocalist in X-Factor runners-up G4, and UK tours of Whistle Down the Wind and Lark Rise to Candleford) Melissa Suffield (Lucy Beale in EastEnders), Danielle McCormack (My Parents Are Aliens), Jonny Freeman (Frank London in M.I High), Tom Swift, Peter Brad-Leigh and impressionist Andy Fleming.
Beauty and the Beast will be directed by Andrew Lynford (EastEnders), of the production he said; "It's going to be great fun for all the family both young and old alike. This show will take the original Beauty and the Beast fairytale and give it a new twist as only New World Productions can!"
