Mother Goose People's Theatre- preview

                                                          Mother Goose by Philip Meeks

Kelly Godfrey (Jenny Goose) and Peter Harrison (Mother Goose)
This Christmas, the People’s Theatre brings you another of their fabulous pantomimes – Mother Goose. Once again guaranteed to provide unbelievable value-for-money, this years’ show promises lots of fun, thrills, spills and egg-citing surprises. Written by Philip Meeks the pantomime this year is directed by newcomer, Marina Cornish, who is very excited to be putting together Mother Goose for our enjoyment. Marina says “laughter, music and dance will transport the audience along a merry journey which is fun for all the family, young and old”. Although new to directing at the People’s, Marina has a wealth of experience directing elsewhere, especially in pantomime, which she has also written and acted in. This years’ pantomime tells the story of Priscilla the Goose (played by Jo Blackett) who lays golden eggs and how she goes to live with kindly Mother Goose (Peter Harrison). Demon Cacophony (Sarah Davison) needs Priscilla for her evil plan and Mother Goose wants to be beautiful and everything develops from there. Baron Balderdash (Colin Cuthbert) and his lovable son Colin (Shaun Harris) provide the slapstick while Fairy Faberge (Alisha Briggs) and Jenny Goose (Kelly Godfrey) provide the glamour with this happy tale. So bring the family, young and old (as Marina’s already said) to this fabulous value-for-money pantomime that’s laden with yokes and be thoroughly entertained for 2 hours. Once again, the People’s Theatre have egg-ceded themselves!
